The Canterbury community is being invited to provide feedback on the concept designs for the Canterbury Hospital Redevelopment via a new interactive online platform.
The NSW Government is investing $350 million in the Canterbury Hospital Redevelopment to deliver the largest upgrade to the hospital in more than 26 years to help meet the healthcare needs of the diverse Canterbury community into the future.
The concept designs have been unveiled, which outlines the planned locations of new and enhanced health services and facilities to be housed within a new multi-storey building. Extensions and enhancements to the existing Canterbury Hospital campus are also planned.
Community members can view the plans and designs for the redevelopment and are encouraged to provide their feedback via an interactive online survey, which will continue to shape planning for the redevelopment.
Community information drop-in sessions will be held at the hospital, inside the main hospital entrance on:
Tuesday, 13 May 7:00am – 3:00pm
Thursday, 15 May 7:00am – 3:00pm
The concept design for the redevelopment has been informed by Canterbury Hospital’s Clinical Services Plan and is expected to include:
- a new expanded and enhanced Intensive Care Unit
- new purpose-built adult inpatient accommodation
- expanded and enhanced Emergency Department
- additional surgical theatre capacity
- enhanced and expanded antenatal facilities
- additional ambulatory and outpatient care capacity
- other clinical and non-clinical enhancements to existing and retained facilities, to support change models of care.
