Major construction is now underway for the $53 million Gunnedah Hospital redevelopment, set to deliver enhanced health facilities for the region.
The redevelopment will deliver a new acute services building that includes an expanded emergency department, as well as modern birthing, maternity, and inpatient unit, alongside a redesigned main entry improving access.
New artist impressions provide a glimpse into the modern facility designed in consultation with staff and the local community to meet the region’s health needs for years to come.
The interior design will reflect the local landscape with calm, welcoming spaces for comfort and functionality,
Each ward is planned to have views of and direct access to landscaped courtyards, with additional breakout spaces for families, carers, and visitors to support health and healing.
The redevelopment is being built by Richard Crookes Construction and delivered in partnership with Health Infrastructure and Hunter New England Local Health District.
Main works are expected to be completed in late 2025.
