Project team appointed for upgrade of Port Macquarie Base Hospital infrastructure

The upgrade of Port Macquarie Base Hospital has taken an important step forward, with a project team appointed to progress planning.

The $265 million Port Macquarie Base Hospital Infrastructure Upgrade will provide enhanced health care services for the communities of the Mid North Coast.

The project team includes Turner and Townsend as the Project Managers, and Altus as the Cost Managers, both of which were appointed following a competitive tender process.

In the coming months, the project team will work with Health Infrastructure and Mid North Coast Local Health District to commence early planning.

The upgrade of Port Macquarie Base Hospital will include essential upgrades to the mechanical systems of the existing hospital building and the expansion of the Emergency and Maternity departments.

The scope of the project will be finalised during planning and design and construction timeframes will be confirmed once a builder is engaged.

The Port Macquarie Base Hospital Infrastructure Upgrade is in addition to the $33.97 million Port Macquarie Base Hospital Helipad Relocation and Car Park project. This delivered a new street level car park, providing more than 180 additional free parking spaces, and a new rooftop helipad to improve access to emergency healthcare for patients.
