Communities in South-Western Sydney are a step closer to a new purpose-built ambulance station following the purchase of a site in Oran Park.
It marks a significant milestone in delivering a vital new health service to support emergency medical care for communities including Oran Park and Narellan.
The site was identified through a comprehensive service planning process that utilises best practice modelling software, which maps Triple Zero calls.
Health Infrastructure and NSW Ambulance thoroughly evaluated the site to ensure it meets the needs of the community, emergency ambulance operations and paramedic staff.
With access to a major road network, the site will enhance the ambulance station network and optimise emergency response across South Western Sydney.
The new Oran Park ambulance station will support paramedics in providing the best emergency medical care, improve network coverage for existing stations at Camden and Campbelltown, and offer modern workplace facilities for paramedics.
The next steps for the project include design development, community consultation, and seeking planning approval for the new station, with construction and operational timelines to be determined as the project progresses.
The new station is being delivered as part of the NSW Government’s $615.5 million investment in the Ambulance Infrastructure Program.
The Program is delivering new ambulance stations and supporting infrastructure across Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle and Wollongong over the coming years, boosting frontline emergency ambulance care.
