Western Sydney communities given first look at new Rouse Hill Hospital designs

Artist’s impressions of the new Rouse Hill Hospital have been unveiled today, providing the community with their first look at the new health campus for Sydney’s north-west.

The NSW Government is investing $700 million to deliver the new hospital to enhance health care for communities across the Western Sydney Local Health District, including Rouse Hill, North Kellyville, Castle Hill and Marsden Park.

The artist impressions show the concept for the new hospital, which includes a welcoming main entry, wards and a multi-storey car park, all in proximity to public transport.

Outpatient clinics, visitor services and retail at lower levels will surround an external covered walkway and landscaped spaces to create a community-focused environment.

The project scope will be confirmed through the planning and design phase, the project is expected to include:

  • An Emergency and Urgent Care Department
  • In-patient beds
  • Day surgery unit
  • Short stay medical assessment services
  • Pathology, pharmacy, and medical imaging services
  • Outpatient and Ambulatory Care services including paediatrics, renal, and women's health, including antenatal and postnatal services
  • A health hub for virtual care and hospital in the home services
  • Prehabilitation, rehabilitation, and lifestyle medicine
  • Administration, staff support and back of house services
  • Car parking facilities.

The new facility will be one of the first sites to adopt the NSW Government’s full campus model, which will incorporate health worker accommodation and childcare services.

Ongoing consultation will continue with local residents, staff, and clinicians to help shape the hospital's design and services.

The next stage of project planning will focus on the internal design, with continued input from health professionals and the local community to ensure the facility meets the needs of the surrounding communities, now and into the future.

Construction of the hospital will support an estimated 1,200 direct jobs with potential for thousands more indirect jobs throughout its development.

The Rouse Hill Hospital is part of the NSW Government’s $3 billion investment for new and upgraded hospitals and health services across greater western Sydney, one of the largest investments in the region’s health infrastructure in recent years.
