A visit to Blacktown Hospital is now easier following today’s opening of a new $18 million state-of-the-art multi-storey expansion, with a high-tech system that alerts patients and visitors to the nearest available car space.
The new 414-space multi-storey is an extension of the existing stage 1 car park, which has more than 1,000 car spaces and is the first NSW hospital car park to feature the guidance system.
More than $42 million has now been invested to improve parking at both Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospital.
The new car park is part of the hospital’s latest redevelopment, which includes a new Acute Services Building for emergency, intensive care, birthing, maternity and paediatrics, delivering a major new tertiary facility for Sydney’s growing west. For added convenience, a new covered link will connect the car park to the new acute services building when it is completed in mid-2019.
The NSW Government is investing more than $700 million in the Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals Expansion Project which will provide better health services closer to home for western Sydney.
