Community consultation central to New Bankstown Hospital project

Over 400 people attended recent community information sessions for the  New Bankstown Hospital, providing valuable feedback to help shape the master plan.

The NSW Government has committed $1.3 billion for the new hospital to meet the healthcare needs of South Western Sydney’s fast-growing and diverse community.

Pop-up events were held across Bankstown, providing community members and hospital staff with the latest project information as master planning for the site progresses. The face-to-face sessions were supported by an online survey.

Feedback was received on hospital services, parking and access, and indicated that welcoming hospital ward designs, access to courtyards and gardens, and easy parking, drop off and pick up areas are a priority for the community.

The sessions are part of the ongoing consultation for the New Bankstown Hospital which has also included sessions for staff, patients, visitors and community. The feedback received is being considered in the hospital’s planning.

The new hospital will be located on Chapel Road, close to the Blacktown city centre, public transport networks and the future Sydney Metro.
