Concept designs for the Grafton Base Hospital Redevelopment have been released, marking a significant step forward to enhance healthcare services in Grafton and the surrounding areas.
Planning for the redevelopment has been carried out in close consultation with clinical staff, ensuring a strong focus on delivering on clinical priorities and aiming to deliver modern treatment spaces to support contemporary models of care.
The redevelopment will improve capacity and include a new three-storey building with an expanded Emergency Department, Emergency Short Stay, Medical Imaging, MRI, inpatient unit, and an expanded Day Surgery and Operating Suite with two additional operating theatres.
The new building will also provide a space for maternity services to be relocated in the future. The redevelopment also identifies future development zones to enable further works to be completed in the future.
Valuable feedback and input from staff, stakeholders, and the community is being invited to help finalise the concept design and shape the redevelopment.
Construction timeframes will be confirmed once planning has been finalised and a builder is engaged.
