Liverpool Hospital is taking shape with the recent installation of new signage on the building façade.
The NSW Government is investing $830 million in the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct, which will boost health services to support growing and diverse communities in Sydney’s south-west.
Inside the new hospital building, various levels are now fully complete, with testing underway for essential services including ventilation and air conditioning, as well as ensuring wayfinding is clear to help staff and the community navigate the new building.
Stage 1 for the project is due for completion later this year and will include a new and expanded Emergency Department, an expanded neonatal intensive care unit, new birthing suites, a new centralised pathology department and redevelopment of the main entrance.
When complete, the redevelopment will create a hub for innovation and medical research, supporting local communities and providing enhanced facilities for clinicians, nurses and staff.
Stage 1 also included a new multi-storey car park, which opened in September 2022
Stage 2 is scheduled to start in 2025 and includes construction of a new integrated services building with new inpatient units, integrated cancer centre including the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) Oasis Wellness Centre and expanded women’s and children’s ambulatory care.
