Master planning underway for Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment

The redevelopment of Fairfield Hospital has taken an important step forward, with master planning now underway.

The NSW Government is investing $550 million in the Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment to deliver modern, purpose-built health facilities to meet the community’s health care needs for generations to come.

The master plan will outline the vision for the site and identify the location of key aspects of the redevelopment.

Master planning will also identify zones for future expansion, ensuring that the hospital can continue to grow with its community well into the future.

South Western Sydney Local Health District has started reviewing and revising the hospital’s models of care, service delivery functions, and non-clinical support requirements, which is a critical piece of planning that will inform the master plan.

Early staff consultation is also underway, and community consultation will start in early 2025 with a range of activities including surveys and information sessions.

The scope of the Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment will be finalised during the planning and design phase and construction timeframes will be confirmed once a builder is engaged.

Staff, stakeholders, and the community will be kept informed and consulted as the project progresses.

In the 2024-25 NSW State Budget, the NSW Government is investing more than $3.6 billion over four years for new and upgraded hospitals and health services across western Sydney.
