New Key Worker Accommodation to benefit healthcare workers in West Wyalong

Healthcare workers at West Wyalong Health Service will soon have access to modern, fit-for-purpose accommodation as part of the NSW Government’s Key Worker Accommodation (KWA) Program.

Three new self-contained units are being installed on the site of the West Wyalong Health Service and are expected to be ready for healthcare workers to move into by the end of the year.

The fully furnished units include a screened verandah, light-filled living and dining area, modern kitchen, bedroom with ensuite, and an internal laundry, along with parking and secure access.

The pre-manufactured units were built off-site and modelled on the KWA Program prototype unit completed earlier this year.

Delivery of these units is a collaboration between Health Infrastructure and Murrumbidgee Local Health District, one of the three regional local health districts to benefit from a $45.3 million investment in the Program.

As a part of this collaboration, Finley, Leeton and Narrandera health services will also benefit from new accommodation.

The NSW Government has committed an additional $200.1 million in the 2024-25 NSW Budget to further increase accommodation for health workers in rural and regional areas.
