Opening of new entrance at Campbelltown Hospital marks completion of Redevelopment

Campbelltown Hospital is celebrating a significant milestone with Health Minister Ryan Park officially opening the new northern entrance, marking the completion of the $632 million Stage 2 redevelopment.

The new entrance enhances access to the main hospital concourse, facilitating easier entry to amenities and care for patients, visitors, and staff.

Since construction began in 2018, the redevelopment has introduced a 12-storey clinical services building, alongside comprehensive refurbishments throughout the hospital.

Key features of the building include a substantially expanded Emergency Department, a new Intensive Care Unit, increased surgical services, modern digital operating theatres, and a range of specialised units for children, maternity, and mental health.

Additional refurbishments across the campus include the expansion of the pathology laboratory, renal dialysis unit, pharmacy, clinical information department, cancer therapy centre, and the introduction of a new dental centre.

The beautiful artworks throughout the new building place country, culture and creativity at the heart of the redevelopment and have received international recognition, winning major European Healthcare Design Awards.

The redevelopment is set to support the growing needs of the Macarthur region, where over 133,000 new residents are anticipated to live within the next twelve years.
