Campbelltown Hospital’s $632 million redevelopment unveiled

Health Infrastructure and South Western Sydney Local Health District have unveiled updated images for  Campbelltown Hospital, which is set to bring contemporary health facilities to the Macarthur region.

Due for completion within four years, the redevelopment includes a bigger emergency department, new 12-storey clinical services building, new birthing suites and maternity ward, as well as new nuclear medicine and dental services.

Adding to this, the number of paediatric beds will more than triple to 70.  A new $34.1 million carpark will open by the end of 2019, adding 700 spaces at the hospital.

Heath Infrastructure Executive Director Bruno Zinghini attended the launch.

“I was extremely pleased to be here and reveal these updated designs to the community. This redevelopment will modernise and bring new and essential services to one of NSW’s fastest growing regions,” he said.

The Stage 2 redevelopment adds to Campbelltown Hospital’s $134 million first stage development, which was completed in 2015.  Stage 1 included a multi-storey acute services building with new inpatient wards, ambulatory care, outpatient, allied health services, pathology and clinical information. Stage 1 also included the refurbishment and reconfiguration of the existing maternity department, paediatric outpatients, emergency department and support services within the existing hospital buildings.

Construction on Stage 2 of the Hospital is set to commence in 2019.
