Voice. Treaty. Truth.

This NAIDOC Week, Health Infrastructure welcomes the opportunity to celebrate the valuable contribution Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across NSW make to all stages of our projects.

Did you know that construction of the newly opened Nepean Redevelopment multi-storey car park was proudly achieved with the help of six local Aboriginal Year 10 high school students?

As participants in Nepean Redevelopment’s Aboriginal construction trainee program, the students are gaining hands-on construction experience and an excellent head-start to a career in construction trades.

The program provides mentorship and a career pathway for local Aboriginal Year 10 students interested in learning a trade - all whilst continuing their high school education!

Led by builders CPB, in partnership with Aboriginal learning organisation Diz Footprints, the program is hitting new milestones in building employment and training opportunities in health and construction for local communities.

Due to its success, the program will be expanded to more students soon.

From 7-14 July 2019, NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
