Central Coast communities welcomed another milestone at Gosford Hospital over the weekend, with Premier Gladys Berejiklian joining Health Minister Brad Hazzard to officially open the highly anticipated 11-storey tower.
Part of the $348 million redevelopment of the hospital, the new tower features:
- An expanded Special Care Nursery for newborns, parents and carers
- An Intensive Care Unit
- A new MRI machine capable of diagnosing stroke, cancer, infection and joint abnormalities
- More comfortable patient accommodation and waiting rooms
- Dedicated staff and patient lifts to offer more privacy and convenience
“A big thank you and congratulations to all involved in this project. This official opening marks a significant step forward in achieving positive outcomes for community health now and into the future,” said Project Director at Health Infrastructure, Dominic Longo.
The Gosford Hospital Redevelopment is expected to be complete in late 2019. For more information, visit http://www.gwhr.health.nsw.gov.au/
