Shovels are in the ground and Macksville’s new hospital is underway!

Health Infrastructure’s project team joined the District, community representatives and the Member for Oxley to mark the start of construction.

The new hospital is being built three kilometres north of the Macksville town centre, mid-way between Macksville and Nambucca Heads.

Once complete, the $73 million facility will deliver contemporary health care to the region, including a new emergency department; inpatient units; operating theatres; maternity services; ambulatory care; outpatient treatments and community and allied health facilities.

The hospital is on track for completion in late 2020, with operational commissioning to follow.

Building hospitals and healthcare facilities is a complex operation - find out more.
