Industry Briefing 2020 – Health infrastructure in a changing world

Friday 4 December 2020

More than 300 people from over 140 organisations logged on to attend the virtual Health Infrastructure 2020 Industry Briefing on Friday 4 December.

Hosted by Chief Executive, Rebecca Wark, the briefing included presentations from the Leadership Team to provide insight into the successful delivery of Health Infrastructure projects during a global pandemic and learn more about Health Infrastructure’s new strategic direction and capital works pipeline.

With a record investment of $10.7 billion until 2024, Health Infrastructure is again tasked with delivering Australia’s largest health infrastructure pipeline, with more than 100 projects underway.

“In order to deliver this, Health Infrastructure needs increased collaboration with industry to support our continued focus on planning and delivering our health capital works program, but with greater emphasis on all aspects of sustainability and building smart hospitals across the whole asset lifecycle,” said Rebecca.

The briefing detailed Health Infrastructure’s pipeline of work and new procurement processes to support the NSW Government’s Ten Point Commitment by ensuring more collaboration with industry.

Contractors and consultants learned more about the upcoming combined Statement of Participation process to help streamline the tendering process and provide an open, equitable and more transparent experience.

Contractors also gained valuable insight into the Health Infrastructure’s Construction Services Contractor Procurement List that was launched in August, replacing the Contractor Prequalification and Best Practice Accreditation Scheme of Construction and Related work valued $1 million and over.

With a packed agenda covering a great deal of change and a huge pipeline of work, the Q&A session addressed questions from the audience, which generated an insightful panel discussion and reinforced the importance of increased partnerships and collaboration with industry.

The details of upcoming work packages to 2022 is available in the Pipeline Brochure here.
