Nepean Hospital’s new car park officially opened

11 July 2019
.
Nepean Hospital’s new multi-storey car park has officially opened! Part of the NSW Government’s more than $1 billion investment in the Nepean Hospital redevelopment, the new car park supports the significant expansion of facilities and services on the campus.

Health Infrastructure’s Chief Executive and project team joined Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, hospital staff and political representatives to celebrate the major milestone.

Open to the public on Tuesday, 16 July 2019, the new car park has 614 spaces for patients, staff and visitors, including 14 disabled parking spaces.

The facility boasts a new rooftop helipad for emergency services and brings total parking to over 1600 spaces, making it easier for everyone to access services at Nepean Hospital.

With Nepean Redevelopment’s car park project complete, work is progressing rapidly on Stage 1 delivery of a new 14-storey clinical services tower.

Due for completion in 2021 the tower will bring a significant expansion of cancer services to the region and include:
  • a brand new and expanded emergency department
  • more than 12 new operating theatres
  • 18 birthing suites
  • a new neonatal intensive care unit
  • more than 200 overnight beds.
One of the largest health infrastructure projects in NSW, the Nepean Redevelopment will see a major expansion and upgrade of hospital and community-based health services for Nepean communities.
