In a major milestone for communities of Shoalhaven and surrounds, construction on the NSW Government’s $11.8 million Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital multi-storey car park has reached its highest point.
Health Infrastructure’s project team joined Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, hospital staff to celebrate the occasion with a ‘topping out’ ceremony of the new building.
The new five split-level car park is in addition to the NSW Government’s $434 million Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital redevelopment - work on this project will start before March 2023.
The new car park is set to provide more than 220 new spaces, in addition to those already constructed and, when complete, the project will increase the hospital’s overall parking capacity to over 550 spaces.
Car park construction commenced in February 2019 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
