Yass’ new NSW Ambulance Station announced

Land on the Yass Hospital campus has been identified as the preferred site for the new $3.7 million Yass Ambulance Station.

The NSW Government is investing in purpose-built and modern NSW Ambulance stations to support the clinical capability of our highly trained paramedics.

The new site at the Yass Hospital on Meehan Street will enable local NSW Ambulance paramedics to better meet the current and future demand for emergency medical care in Yass and surrounds.

Health Infrastructure’s Senior Project Director, Anthony Dimech acknowledged this important milestone in delivering a new Ambulance Station for Yass.

“Site investigations will continue with planning approvals to follow, tenders will then be called for the construction of the new station,” Mr Dimech said.

Designed with input from local paramedics, the Yass NSW Ambulance station will deliver a better working environment for paramedics tailored to the needs of the local community.

Once completed, the Yass NSW Ambulance station will include:

  • Administration and office areas
  • Amenities
  • Logistics and storage areas
  • Relief accommodation
  • Plant area
  • Staff parking
  • Deliveries and loading bay.

To date, 22 upgraded, rebuilt or new regional and rural ambulance stations have been announced under the RAIR program, which represents the biggest regional and rural transformation of NSW Ambulance infrastructure in the organisation’s history.
