The Dubbo Base Hospital Redevelopment Stages 1 and 2 established the hospital as one of the state's major rural referral centres and acute care hospitals for specialty services.
The $91.3 million Dubbo Base Hospital Redevelopment Stages 1 and 2 was funded with $84.2 million from the NSW Government and $7.1 million from the Australian Government’s Health and Hospitals Fund.
OVERVIEW
The Dubbo Base Hospital Redevelopment Stages 1 and 2 established the hospital as one of the state’s major rural referral centres and acute care hospitals for specialty services. The redevelopment provided a combination of new purpose-built infrastructure, along with an upgrade of the existing facilities. The upgrade allowed Dubbo Hospital to meet the demands of the expanding local community. In June 2016 planning commenced for the renal dialysis unit which will be located in Stages 3 and 4.
SCOPE
The project delivered:
- New operating theatres
- Day-only and extended day-only ward for surgical services
- Inpatient ward and birthing suite for maternity services
- Renal dialysis unit
- Clinical sterilisation department/ specialised sterilising department
- Refurbished main hospital entry and upgraded infrastructure, including car parking, to support the clinical services listed above.
