Manning Base Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2 - Public exhibition

The NSW Government is investing $180 million in the Lower Mid North Coast Health Service project, bringing together the Manning Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2 and Forster-Tuncurry health facility projects to boost health services for communities across the region.

Detailed design is completed for Stage 2 of the Manning Base Hospital Redevelopment and the scope includes improved inpatient accommodation, as well as improved connectivity across the campus.

The Review of Environmental Factors for the demolition works is now on public exhibition until midnight on Monday 17 February 2025. The enabling works will involve demolishing the administration building, facility management unit, mortuary and old fever ward. Two bulk oxygen tanks will also be relocated at the site.

The Review of Environmental Factors report has been prepared to assess the potential benefits and environmental impacts of the enabling works.

Feedback can be provided online via the “Make a submission” form. If assistance is required, please contact the project team on: HI-manningforster@health.nsw.gov.au.

The submissions received will be used to finalise the details of the design prior to demolition works starting in 2025.

Health Infrastructure and Hunter New England Local Health District are continuing to work together to ensure priority health services are delivered for the Taree and wider Manning Valley community as part of the redevelopment project.

The project team appreciates the valuable time and input provided by staff, stakeholders and the community into the design process for the redevelopment.
