OVERVIEW The Campbelltown Hospital Redevelopment – Stage 2 will deliver the expansion of key clinical and support services, integrated and expanded mental health services and enhanced paediatric services for the Macarthur region. The project includes a new clinical services building as well as refurbishment of the existing buildings. With additional clinical services and medical specialities available, the local community will have access to a broader range of healthcare closer to home. The redevelopment will also improve patient flow, provide better vehicle and pedestrian access to the hospital, include food and retail outlets and provide more job opportunities. The project follows on from the $134 million Campbelltown Hospital Redevelopment – Stage 1, which was completed in January 2016. The NSW Government invested $632 million in Campbelltown Hospital – Stage 2. BENEFITS The project will: Meet the healthcare needs of the growing Macarthur community Focus on health services for children and women, mental health services and older persons healthcare Provide care for more complex illnesses, diseases and trauma Improve patient flow Provide better vehicle and pedestrian access to the hospital Provide more job opportunities. SCOPE The project includes: A new clinical services building with modern wards and patient facilities New women’s health services including birthing suites and maternity ward Increased children’s outpatient and ambulatory care services Increased children’s surgical services New nuclear medicine and dental services State-of-the-art operating theatres and Intensive Care Unit An expanded Emergency Department with more treatment spaces Modern mental health units that are centrally located Increased access to outpatient and ambulatory care services Upgraded medical imaging equipment Increased cancer services.
