Health Infrastructure is redeveloping the Cooma Hospital to deliver enhanced services, facilities and care to Cooma and surrounding communities.
OVERVIEW
The Cooma Hospital Redevelopment includes upgrades to existing facilities to deliver high quality healthcare for the Cooma region now and in the future.
The redeveloped hospital will provide the community with an expanded Emergency Department, a new maternity department, a new ambulatory care centre and an expansion of the medical imaging department.
The NSW Government is investing over $26.5 million to redevelop Cooma Hospital.
BENEFITS
The project will:
- Deliver health services to meet the current and future healthcare needs of the local communities
- Improve accessibility to an expanded range of health services, including emergency, ambulatory care, inpatient care and maternity
- Provide positive economic and social benefits within the Cooma and surrounding communities through employment, skills development and local expenditure during construction and into operations.
SCOPE
The project includes:
- A new fit-for-purpose ambulatory care centre
- An expanded Emergency Department
- A new maternity department
- Relocation of pathology.
