Health Infrastructure is planning to build a new Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital on a new site, which will transform the delivery of healthcare in Bankstown and the surrounding suburbs.
OVERVIEW
By 2036, the Bankstown local government area is expected to grow by about 21 per cent to nearly half a million people. To meet the growing healthcare needs of the community, Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital
needs a major expansion.
The hospital will be built on a new site, which will provide space for a range of integrated health services, better serving the needs of the local community. In addition, a new site will provide more opportunities for research and education, which will help attract staff and provide more local and diverse job opportunities.
The NSW Government has committed $1.3 billion to redevelop the Bankstown Hospital on a new site.
