Health Infrastructure is building a new car park following relocation of the helipad to the rooftop at the Port Macquarie Hospital.
OVERVIEW
The new helipad for the Port Macquarie Hospital has provided patients with the most direct route to the hospital’s Emergency Department and operating theatres while improving the experience and safety of patients, carers and staff.
The new helipad was completed in December 2023. New car parking facilities to boost capacity on the campus is under construction on the site of the previous helipad.
The NSW Government is investing $33.97 million to deliver the new helipad and car park at Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
BENEFITS
The project will:
- Replace the existing helipad to serve the community now and into the future
- Deliver more than 180 additional parking spaces to increase car park capacity at the Port Macquarie Hospital for patients, visitors and staff.

The project includes:
- Relocation and construction of a new helipad on the hospital roof
- New street-level car park on the site of the former helipad
