The $211 million Tamworth Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2 included $91 million contributed by the NSW Government and $120 million from the Commonwealth Government’s Health and Hospitals Fund.
OVERVIEW
Tamworth Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2 has provided increased capacity and new facilities for the best patient care. The new Acute Services Building (ASB) provides a central hub for medical, surgical and other specialties in the region. It also provides outreach and support for chronic and complex disease management across the local community.
The redevelopment complements the $41.7 million Stage 1 New England North West Regional Cancer Centre, which was completed near the hospital’s Emergency Department. An additional 30 car parking spaces have been added as part of the redevelopment, for patients receiving cancer treatment.
