The NSW Government has committed $21.9 million to upgrade and expand Wollongong Hospital to respond to the health needs of the growing local community.
As part of upgrades for Wollongong Hospital, new MRI and CT scanners will be installed at the hospital, and the existing Medical Assessment Centre (MAC) will be relocated to a new location within the hospital, which will enable the provision of expanded outpatient services. Works are expected to be completed in early 2026.
The $21.9 million investment also includes funding for planning of Wollongong Hospital’s future expansion. This is in early planning. The community will be updated as planning progresses.
