The $50.4 Bulli Hospital Aged Care Centre built opposite Bulli Hospital provides contemporary, accessible health care.
The project is funded by the NSW Government ($36.97 million, including $14.5 million from the Restart NSW Illawarra Infrastructure Fund) and IRT Group ($16.6 million contributed to residential aged care).
OVERVIEW
The project is a new facility opposite the existing Bulli Hospital, transforming the site into a new hospital with an integrated aged care centre. The facility focuses on geriatric medicine, primary and community health services and will reduce pressure on the Wollongong Hospital Emergency Department.
SCOPE
The centre provides:
- inpatient and aged care facilities
- development of on-site clinical support services (including medical imaging, pathology and pharmacy)
- provision of a range of non-clinical support services (including food and nutrition, cleaning, asset maintenance)
- a primary urgent healthcare centre
- 60-suite residential aged care centre funded by $16.6 million from IRT
This project was delivered by Health Infrastructure in partnership with IRT Group and Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
