The Multipurpose Service (MPS) program aims to provide regional and remote communities with modern and fit-for-purpose health and aged care services.
OVERVIEW
Health Infrastructure, working in partnership with the Local Health Districts across the state, is responsible for the planning, design and delivery of the MPS Program.
The MPS program includes new facilities and upgrading existing facilities at Barham, Blayney (underway), Bonalbo, Braidwood, Coolah, Culcairn, Dorrigo, Hay, Holbrook, Lightning Ridge, Molong, Murrurundi, Murrumburrah-Harden, Rylstone, Tocumwal, Tumbarumba, Walgett and Yass.
The NSW Government is investing $297 million in the MPS program – Stage 5.
BENEFITS
The program will:
- Integrate health, aged care services (where appropriate), and emergency and urgent care services to provide flexible health service delivery
- Utilise the latest healthcare solutions and models of care to deliver patient-centred health services closer to home
- Respond to community needs and offers integration of services and links with other healthcare professionals and providers.
SCOPE
The program includes:
- Upgrades or new facilities across regional and remote NSW to deliver improved access to health and aged care services for local residents
- 18 projects have been completed at Barham, Bonalbo, Braidwood, Coolah, Culcairn, Dorrigo, Hay, Holbrook, Lightning Ridge, Molong, Murrurundi, Murrumburrah-Harden, Rylstone, Tocumwal, Tumbarumba, Walgett and Yass.
- One project is underway at Blayney.
