2017 finishes on a high for Health Infrastructure

Health Infrastructure has had a historic year delivering a record $7.7 billion budget, making it the largest health capital spend in Australia, and the second largest portfolio in NSW.

We were also fortunate to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Over the past decade, Health Infrastructure has delivered more than 60 hospital and health care projects across the State. Now that’s a milestone worth celebrating!

Health Infrastructure has more than 100 live projects on the go including 60 in the planning phase, and 42 projects in construction; we’ve also completed more than 20 projects over the past 12 months.

The bricks and mortar are just one small aspect of these redevelopments. More significantly, the NSW Government investment provides a catalyst for change in the way innovative models of care and state-of-the-art ITC are delivered, to ensure these facilities are welcoming, accessible, caters for the future growth, and is fit-for-purpose for both staff and patients – this is the quintessential recipe for success, and a balance we try hard to achieve.

Our arts program, apprentice initiatives, clinical and stakeholder consultation, and indigenous engagement also form critical pieces which help us to deliver this world class Health Infrastructure.

Many hands make light work and we couldn’t do it without the help our contractors, designers and architects, cost managers, planners, project managers, local health districts, partners in education including UNSW, Western Sydney University and Sydney University, our Government counterparts, and the staff and clinicians whose hospitals we take up residency to deliver these significant upgrades with minimal disruption, we thank you.
