NSW Budget allocates $33 billion for Health

NSW Government has announced $33 billion for Health as part of the 2022-23 NSW Budget, including $2.8 billion for capital works to continue building and redeveloping hospitals and health facilities, delivering improved health outcomes for NSW families and communities.

This takes the health infrastructure pipeline to a record $11.9 billion investment over the next four years, up from $10.8 billion last year.

This includes funding for new projects:

  • $200 million for the Bathurst Health Service Redevelopment

  • $263.8 million for the Grafton Base Hospital Redevelopment  

  • $150 million Sydney Biomedical Accelerator as part of Tech Precinct

  • $111.5 million for the Cessnock Hospital Redevelopment  

  • $460 million for the Integrated Mental Health Complex at Westmead  

  • $80 million for the Temora Hospital Redevelopment  

  • $2 million to commence planning for the Ballina District Hospital Redevelopment

  • $615.5 million for the NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program to deliver 30 new ambulance stations.
