Community celebrates construction completion of Murrumburrah-Harden MPS

Monday 27 July 2020

Construction has finished on the new Murrumburrah-Harden Health Service, delivered under the NSW Government’s $304 million Multipurpose Service program.

The Murrumbidgee Local Health District will now undertake operational commissioning of the building before the new facility opens its doors to the public in August.

The new facility maintains its current 33 bed total, including flexible inpatient beds which can be used for both residential and inpatient care. Services include:
  • emergency care
  • acute inpatient beds
  • residential aged care in a home-like environment
  • integrated primary and community health
  • ambulatory care.
Solar electricity panels have been installed on the new building to assist energy-efficiency and reduce running costs.

While start of operations marks a major milestone in the redevelopment project, next steps include completion of the landscaping, construction of three new staff accommodation units and demolition of the old hospital buildings.

The project is on track for completion in 2021.

The NSW Government’s $304 million Multipurpose Service program is providing health and aged care services for small and remote rural communities.
