Using special Virtual Reality (VR) headsets, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital welcomes you to check out its $200 million Stage 2 Redevelopment - well before it’s finished!
Visitors to the hospital can enjoy the VR headsets at a number of pop-up stands and ‘virtually experience’ realistic 360 degree images of the main entry, ambulatory care reception, lobby, staff station, Intensive Care Unit, paediatrics and rehabilitation areas.
A separate interactive VR model for staff and clinicians is also being used, to help them become familiar with the new spaces and improvements to their working environment.
It also helps them more accurately discuss and plan new models of care as well as change management.
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2 will bring a bigger and better emergency department to the area along with a new multi-storey Clinical Services Building.
Stage 2 follows on from the $121 million
Stage 1 which delivered the new STAR (surgical, theatres, anesthetics and recovery) building.
And, with over 500 spaces, the new $19.8 million six-storey car park is now open and free of charge until April 2019.
So grab the opportunity and experience VR technology at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai’s $321 million hospital-to-be!
Delivered in partnership with Health Infrastructure and Northern Sydney Local Health District, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2 is due for completion in 2021.
