Master plan for Glen Innes Hospital released for community consultation

The master plan for the $50 million Glen Innes Hospital redevelopment has been unveiled, showcasing the vision for the new state-of-the-art health facility.

Glen Innes Hospital will be redeveloped on the existing hospital site and include a new fit-for-purpose hospital building that will provide flexible clinical services and contemporary models of care for the Glen Innes community now and into the future.

The master plan of the new hospital campus shows how new and existing buildings connect, as well as the location for other services and facilities including parking, the hospital’s entry and drop off area and staff accommodation.

The new Glen Innes ambulance station will be built on the campus, ensuring swift, effective collaboration between paramedics and hospital staff in the event of an emergency to deliver the best clinical outcomes for patients and their families.

Culturally appropriate and welcoming spaces for patients, visitors and staff will be a key focus of the redevelopment.

Following the release of the master plan, the project team is inviting the community to provide feedback to help inform the planning and design of the new local hospital. The project team is also collaborating with clinicians and staff throughout the planning of the project.

Earlier this year the NSW Government announced an additional $30 million funding boost for the Glen Innes Hospital redevelopment – bringing the budget to $50 million.
