A new 3D model of the Westmead Redevelopment project, complete with lights and custom-made vehicles, has been unveiled at Westmead Hospital.
The new model showcases the new Central Acute Services Building and Innovation Centre, currently being built as part of the $1 billion Westmead Redevelopment – the state’s biggest health infrastructure project.
The model also depicts the hospital building’s new plaza and forecourt, located on Hawkesbury Road, and the soon-to-be-built Parramatta Light Rail stations at Westmead Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Westmead Redevelopment Executive Director Leena Singh said the model was a great way to familiarise patients, visitors, students and staff with the Westmead of the future.
“The Westmead precinct is already one of the largest health, education, training and research precincts in Australia and it’s only getting bigger,” she said.
The new model, located on level 2 of the E block, took more than 300 hours to build. It has working lighting, custom-designed vehicles, including ambulances, and is made of more than 600 pieces.
