With early works complete, the first sod has been turned at the Bowral & District Hospital, kicking off construction on the $65 million Stage 1 redevelopment.

Health Infrastructure’s project team joined the Local Health District, contractors, hospital staff and the local member of Parliament to celebrate the exciting milestone.

The redevelopment represents the largest infrastructure investment in the Southern Highlands’ community in years, and will deliver new:
  • Emergency Department
  • Inpatient units with more single patient rooms with ensuites
  • Birthing suites
  • Modern theatres
  • Main entrance
  • Medical equipment
  • Improved patient and staff amenities
The facility will help clinicians provide first-class healthcare to the growing Southern Highland community.

Australian-owned ADCO Constructions is set to complete this first stage of the redevelopment by late 2020.

Adding to this, planning for a further stage will also start soon – thanks to a recent commitment of an extra $55 million by the NSW Government.
