Construction starts on $32.4 million car park at Concord Hospital

Monday 29 August 2022

Construction is under way on a new $32.4 million car park project at Concord Hospital, which will provide an additional 400 car parking spaces for patients, visitors and staff.

The project will include construction of a new street-level car park and a 550 space five-level multi-storey car park to improve parking options and enhance access to the range of clinical services.

When complete, the new car parks will increase the capacity on the hospital campus to more than 2,300 spaces.

Successful contractor Lipman will implement a five-day week for workers on the project, following the success of the two-year research study, which found a Monday-Friday work week at the $341 million Concord Hospital Redevelopment improved the health and wellbeing of construction workers.

The multistorey car park is expected to be completed in 2024, with the 300 space street-level car park completed in mid-2023.
