The Prince of Wales Hospital's Emergency Department is set to be refurbished and expanded.
The expansion forms part of the $720 million Randwick Campus Redevelopment, and will deliver eight new treatment spaces to help meet the needs of the community. The redevelopment will also see construction of a new Acute Services Building to the west of the existing campus, as well as a new staff station and upgraded patient bathrooms.
“The Emergency Department Expansion project is the first delivery milestone for the Randwick Campus Redevelopment and an important step towards increasing treatment capacity for the Randwick Hospitals’ Campus,” says Health Infrastructure Senior Project Director, Nick Brooker.
Construction on the Emergency Department will begin shortly, taking approximately 12 months to complete. The new Acute Services Building is scheduled to open in late 2022.
