Hay Health Service construction complete

Tuesday 28 September 2021

The Hay Shire community will soon benefit from a newly expanded Hay Health Service following the completion of construction.

Delivered under the NSW Government’s $297 million Multipurpose Service Program (MPS), the facility’s new and enhanced features include:

  • four new residential aged care bedrooms and a resident lounge

  • external landscaped area and outdoor socialisation space for residents

  • new emergency triage area, which will provide hospital nursing staff with a dedicated area to assess and prioritise patients for treatment

  • three new staff accommodation units to support the staffing and operations of the health service

  • refurbished reception and administration areas to facilitate contemporary models of care and improve security and accessibility.

Health Infrastructure Project Director, Arjuna Thiru Moorthy said the project provides improved health and aged care services to meet the health needs of the Hay community now and into the future.

“The expansion of the Health Service improves facilities to support delivery of flexible and integrated healthcare to the community,” he said.

“An artwork has also been commissioned by an Aboriginal artist and on completion will be installed in the reception area as a welcome to people seeking care.”
