Wyong Hospital one step closer with first sod turned

11 October 2019
.
In a major milestone for Central Coast communities, the first sod has been turned on the NSW Government’s $200 million Wyong Hospital redevelopment.

Health Infrastructure’s project team joined hospital staff, Central Coast Local Health District and political representatives to mark the start of main works construction.

The redevelopment will significantly enhance healthcare on the Central Coast and meet the growing needs of the community.

On completion the project will deliver a new hospital building including:
  • new emergency department
  • new medical imaging department
  • increased intensive care services
  • enhanced paediatric services
  • additional inpatient beds

The project will also house additional parking spaces to support the growth in services with refurbishment of some areas of the existing hospital creating a new transit lounge and medical day unit.

With completion expected in early 2022, the redevelopment will deliver an increase in overall service capacity, catering for the growing populations of the Central Coast.

Watch the flythrough and find more information on the Wyong Hospital redevelopment website.
