Community invited to have their say on future of St George Hospital

Wednesday 1 December 2021

The St George community is invited to have their say on the new $385 million Stage 3 redevelopment at St George Hospital which will provide enhanced health services and facilities for Sydney’s south.

The NSW Government fast-tracked the redevelopment as part of the State’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan, ensuring the community is provided with state-of-the-art facilities sooner.

The Stage 3 redevelopment builds on previous investments by the NSW Government, including the new $41 million Emergency Department, $277 million Acute Services Building and $11.5 million Birthing Suite and Theatre Refurbishment.

Stage 3 will provide a new Integrated Ambulatory Care Precinct, which will bring together a range of services to meet the growing needs of the community.

The new facilities will be primarily used by outpatients visiting the hospital for a variety of procedures including blood transfusions, immune therapy, biopsies and medical imaging tests.

Community members are encouraged to have their say via a short online survey here.

Health Infrastructure, in partnership with the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, are on track to commence early works before the end of Christmas, with main works underway in 2022, followed by the new services opening for patients in 2025.
