A significant milestone has been reached for the $30 million Dubbo Hospital Car Park project with the ground level car park opening this week.
The 40-space car park is adjacent to the hospital entry and will be prioritised for patients and visitors.
The milestone coincides with the start of concrete pours for the multi-storey car park’s ground floor slab, which will provide more than 300 additional car spaces for patients, visitors and staff.
The Car Park project is in addition to the NSW Government’s major expansion and upgrade of hospital services including the $150 million Dubbo Hospital Redevelopment Stages 3 and 4 and the recently opened $35 million Western Cancer Centre.
When complete next year, the new multi-storey car park will include staff parking to free up new and current parking near the hospital’s front entrance for patients and visitors. It will also provide convenient parking for patients and visitors to the new Western Cancer Centre.
Since construction started in April 2021, building contractor Hansen Yuncken, has undertaken in-ground works, services upgrades, piling and foundations for the new multi-storey car park.
In addition to the two car parks, the project also includes infrastructure upgrades such as roadways, footpaths, hospital access, lighting and security.
Construction of the Dubbo Hospital Car Park project is on track for completion in 2022.
