The first major concrete pour was completed on Tuesday as part of the Stage 1 $20 million Manning Hospital Redevelopment.
The concrete poured will form the first floor of the new building, which will enhance cancer treatment and renal dialysis at Manning Hospital.
Patients seeking treatment for kidney disease and cancer will be able to undergo their treatment with dedicated car park access to the services to better meet their ongoing clinical needs.
The new facilities for renal dialysis will have specially designed areas to enable training for home dialysis and provide access to a contemporary ambulatory dialysis service.
Members of the local community will be able to see continued progress of the redevelopment, as form work will now continue up to the second floor over the coming months.
Construction of the new building is expected to be completed late 2018.
