Inverell Community Health facility now open

28 April 2021

Refurbishment works on the Inverell Hospital Redevelopment Stage 1B project are now complete, with the keys handed over to Hunter New England Local Health District.

The new Inverell Community Health facility opened to the public on Monday 26 April, with the public attending small group tours of the new building earlier this month.

Stage 1B of the project included refurbishing the old hospital to allow existing community health and ambulatory care services to be relocated.

The new community health building is a modern and fit-for-purpose facility co-located with the new hospital and providing all existing services in one central location.

Health services provided from the new community health building include adult ambulatory care, mental health services, women’s and children’s services, oral health, chronic disease treatment programs and allied health.

The overall Inverell Hospital Redevelopment project is now complete with Stage 1A opened to the public in May 2020 and Stage 1B works finished.

The $60 million Inverell Hospital Redevelopment project involved a major upgrade of the Inverell Health Service to deliver a new modern hospital, refurbished community health facility, enhanced services and quality care to patients.
