Site announced for Old Bar Ambulance Station

Thursday 11 August 2022

The Old Bar community is a step closer to gaining its first ambulance station following the announcement of the preferred location.

The new purpose-built ambulance station will be located at 105 Old Bar Road, providing the optimal location to service the community, with construction due for completion in 2023.

NSW Ambulance and Health Infrastructure worked to identify the new location using demand modelling software which maps Triple Zero calls.

The station will feature internal parking for up to four emergency ambulance vehicles, relief accommodation for paramedics, administration and office areas, logistics and storage areas, an internal wash bay and staff parking.

The Old Bar station will support the new ambulance station under construction in Forster and is in addition to refurbishments on the Taree and Bulahdelah stations, which are nearly complete. Together these stations will enhance access to mobile emergency health care across Myall Lakes.

The new Old Bar ambulance station is being delivered under the Rural Ambulance Infrastructure Reconfiguration program (RAIR).

A commitment for a further 30 new ambulance stations across NSW has been announced as part of the $615.5 million Ambulance Infrastructure Program.
