Naidoc Week 2018: How consultation and participation shapes health infrastructure

Naidoc Week events are currently taking place all across the country to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This year’s theme “Because of Her, We Can!” shines light on the role our first nation’s women have played - and continue to play - as leaders, trailblazers, politicians, activists and social change advocates.

For Health Infrastructure, Naidoc Week is an opportunity to reflect on the way Aboriginal communities across NSW contribute to all stages of our projects: as contractors, health professionals, consultants, artists and community representatives.

Click the below links to see just some of these initiatives in action: Working with the community is key to the success of our projects and ensuring what the Government delivers addresses community health needs now and into the future. Health Infrastructure and the Local Health Districts will continue to find new ways to ensure we are communicating and working alongside our diverse cultural populations.
